With over 52 years of experience, founder Mark Sumada brings a deep understanding of every phase of the building process—from site planning and architectural design to the final details that bring a home to life. His approach has always been rooted in precision, craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

That foundation began while attending the University of Kansas School of Architecture, where Mark worked alongside his professors remodeling historic homes in Lawrence—building both his skillset and his future in the industry.

Today, that legacy continues with second-generation builder Ben Sumada. Having grown up on job sites, Ben shares the same passion for the process—bringing a fresh perspective while carrying forward the standards Suma Design was built on.

While our roots are grounded in traditional homebuilding, our work has evolved. We now focus on clean, modern design -creating homes that feel timeless, functional, and tailored to the way people live today.
